Are you interested in learning more about what it takes to be a part of a horse show and taking care of your own horse?
All participants that join this camp will be admitted into our offsite horse show on June 11th at Francis Field in New Lenox. The cost includes camp and horse show admittance and fees. (Must attend this camp to be in the horse show.)
The instructor will work with the riders to determine what classes they will ride in at the off-site show and riders will practice each day of camp before the show day. Participants will learn what it’s like to be a part of a “show team” and will work on team building exercises that will aid in supporting each other at the horse show!
Previous riding experience isn’t necessary.
Camp activities include:
-How to groom and prepare a horse for a horse show (Braiding, leg wrapping, baths)
-Trailer loading and prep
-Proper attire for horse shows
-Arena etiquette
-First aid for horses
-Riding every day
No previous riding experience necessary!
Bring a sack lunch and eat with your favorite horse!
All participants must come prepared with proper attire to ensure that they are comfortable and safe around the horses. This will include long pants and close toed shoes with a heel. Please dress to be prepared to be inside and outside weather permitting. Helmets will be provided if the participant does not own one.
Please wait in the front office where your instructor will come and greet you.
All new participants must sign a waiver (updated yearly) before the class begins. Please click here for waiver.
No Refunds if registration is cancelled after May 22nd. Cancellations requested before May 22nd will be subject to processing fee.
We will need a minimum of 4 participants to run the camp - we will contact you if we need to cancel or reschedule the camp.
